How the trip checker works
Choose a country and your travel dates to see every national public holiday between them. The dates come from the same calendar as the country pages, and each holiday links to its own page where one exists.
Public holidays matter when you travel: many offices, banks and shops close or open for shorter hours, and public transport may run a reduced timetable. Popular places can also be busier while residents have the day off.
The check covers national public holidays and the country's own weekend. Regional holidays, school holidays and local events are not included, so check local sources for the exact place you are visiting.
Frequently asked questions
Does the trip checker include regional holidays?
No. It lists national public holidays only. Some countries also have holidays that apply only in one region or city, so check local sources for the place you are visiting.
What if a public holiday falls on a weekend?
Some countries move the day off to a nearby weekday. When the calendar lists such a substitute day, the trip checker shows it as a separate holiday.
Is my trip saved anywhere?
No. The check runs in your browser. Your choices are kept only in the page address, so you can bookmark or share the result.
