A public holiday under Kosovo law
Kosovo’s Law No. 03/L-064 lists April 9 as Constitution Day, one of the Republic’s official public holidays. It provides a paid day off for workers in Kosovo, except where another law sets a different arrangement. If an official holiday falls on Saturday or Sunday, the law says the following working days are rest days.[1]
The law also allows the Government to designate public and private institutions and other public services that must operate during official holidays. This means the holiday does not by itself confirm that every service closes. The law provides that a person who works on an official holiday is compensated with one and a half days of leave or the equivalent in money.[1]
