For the public sector, the 1991 order says public treasuries, offices, workshops and territorial and State public services close on the listed holidays, including November 1. It also says daily paid employees and workers receive their pay for those days.[1]

The New Caledonian Labour Code defines public holidays for private-sector employment; check your workplace rules to find out whether work is suspended.[2]
