Easter Monday follows Easter Sunday in the Christian calendar. Easter centres on the resurrection of Jesus, and the Vatican describes the Monday as part of the continuing Easter celebration.[4]

Work and practical arrangements

For workers covered by Guinea’s Labour Code, legal holidays are paid and the holiday rest cannot reduce their wages or be recovered later as extra work. The code also provides additional pay for employees who must work at establishments that cannot stop operating: a 60 percent hourly increase for daytime work and 100 percent at night.[3]

The holiday decree’s replacement-day rule applies only when Independence Day, New Year or Eid al-Fitr falls on a nonworking day. Easter Monday is not named in that rule, so the decree does not provide a general substitute day for it.[1]
