Angola’s National Assembly lists 25 December as “Dia de Natal e da Família” (“Christmas Day and Family Day”) among the national public holidays.[1]
The General Labour Law gives workers the right not to work on public holidays. It makes an exception for continuous-operation activities and permits work in specified circumstances where overtime is allowed. The law also provides for work to stop at 12:30 on 24 December for Family Day, with an exception for continuous-operation employers.[2]
