Article 14 of Armenia’s Law on Holidays and Memorial Days sets Labour Day on May 1 as a non-working day. The date is fixed, so May 1 remains the holiday when it falls on a Saturday or Sunday. The law allows the Government to establish additional non-working days, but no automatic substitute weekday is provided; check for official schedule changes.[1]

The Labour Code generally prohibits engaging employees in work on non-working holidays. It allows exceptions for work that cannot stop for technical reasons, services needed by the population, urgent repairs, and loading or unloading. Pregnant employees and employees caring for a child under one may work on the holiday only with their consent.[2]
